Montreal’s McGill University has been ranked as the second greenest campus in Canada.
According to a report released by Corporate Knights, McGill took the second spot on the list.
Corporate Knights based their ranking on the following 13 factors:
- Building area management
- Clean air management
- Green certified building space
- Environment-friendly dining certification
- Clean energy produced
- Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool score
- Green purchases on cleaning products
- Green purchases on office paper
- Green transportation
- Smart commuting
- Waste management
- Water management
- Investing sustainably
According to the report, McGill received a high ranking for its “green purchasing policies effective waste management and sustainable commuting practices.”
McGill recently announced itsĀ Vision 2020 Climate & Action PlanĀ and has promised to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040.
