McGill University ranked 2nd greenest campus in Canada

Montreal’s McGill University has been ranked as the second greenest campus in Canada.

According to a report released by Corporate Knights, McGill took the second spot on the list.

Corporate Knights based their ranking on the following 13 factors:

  • Building area management
  • Clean air management
  • Green certified building space
  • Environment-friendly dining certification
  • Clean energy produced
  • Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool score
  • Green purchases on cleaning products
  • Green purchases on office paper
  • Green transportation
  • Smart commuting
  • Waste management
  • Water management
  • Investing sustainably

According to the report, McGill received a high ranking for its “green purchasing policies effective waste management and sustainable commuting practices.”

McGill recently announced itsĀ Vision 2020 Climate & Action PlanĀ and has promised to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040.
