Maclean’s Magazine issued its 30th edition of Canada’s top university rankings and McGill has nabbed the country’s top medical-doctoral spot for the 16th year in a row.

The Medical Doctoral category includes 15 universities from throughout Canada, featuring a wide range of Ph.D. and research programs. Maclean’s also highlighted McGill’s COVID-19 research efforts.

The university also got praise from Maclean’s for its diversity, highlighting that international students make up close to 30% of the school’s students.

Maclean’s ranking rates universities on performance indicators in five different categories: students, faculty, resources, student support, and reputation.

For the 11th year in a row, McGill ranked first in scholarships and bursaries; library acquisitions for the 6th consecutive year; student awards, social sciences and humanities grants for the 9th straight year.

The University of Toronto, UBC, McMaster University, and Queen’s University rounded out Maclean’s top five.
