Yoga with goats?
Yup, it’s a thing – and you’ll soon be able to take classes in Montreal.
Yoga Vieux Montreal announced that goat yoga classes will be taking place in August and September.
“Goat Yoga presents the mindfulness and calming effects of yoga with the therapeutic elements of animal-assisted therapy,” said Yoga Vieux Montreal.
“While yoga has proven to help manage and relieve both acute and chronic stress, animal therapy has shown to lower increases in systolic and diastolic blood pressure resulting from daily stressors. This class aims to provide a unique blend of both worlds by having our class conducted in the presence of cuddly miniature goats!”
Goat yoga has already gained popularity on the West Coast, with classes in Vancouver, and now the trend has caught on.
All proceeds from the Montreal classes will benefit the ASISTA foundation to help raise service dogs for children and veterans diagnosed with mental health conditions.
