The Ormstown Expo is gearing up for its 104th anniversary on June 7-10 and it’s a dandy of a time for city-slickers and country-folk alike.

Hosted on the ancient, Ormstown fairgrounds, the fair is a mixture of carnival rides, barn animals, derbies, tractor pulls, live music, and agriculture awareness.

Whether you’re driving down from Montreal or you live up the road, the Ormstown Fair is a fan favourite for all ages.

The fair starts on Thursday evening with a parade and tractor float that starts at Ormstown Elementary School and ends at the fair’s grandstands.

Gates open on Friday at 8 am and the petting zoo and pony rides kick off the action before the Midway Rides open at 11 am. The rest of Friday consists of sheep shearing, horse carriages, a magic show, a talent show, open mic comedy, BBQ chicken supper, live music, and DJs before the rides close at midnight.

Saturday starts off with the lawn tractor pull and is filled with the cattle show, fiddlers, a poultry, guinea pig, and rabbit show, and a pork supper with live music and the constant amusement rides.

Sunday sums up the carnival with a junior talent competition and a demolition derby.

Coupons are required to ride the rides which ask for 3-5 coupons apiece. Each coupon costs $1.50 and coupon bundles are available for $25 for 20 and $40 for 40. Bracelets are also available, granting unlimited rides for $30.

The fair’s admission costs $5 on Thursday and between $5-$10 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday depending on your age. Four-day passes are available onlineĀ for $20 or at the front gate upon arrival.
