Environment Canada issues frost advisory for Greater Montreal

A frost advisory has been issued for the Greater Montreal area and some spots on the South Shore, according to Environment Canada.

Montreal is in store for conflicting weather over the next few days and this morning’s advisory will launch weather that is expected to feel like 28°C with the humidex later on today before falling to 10°C on Friday.

As per the weather website,”Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.”

The advisory, which was issued at 4:11 am, will affect the following regions:

  • Châteauguay – La Prairie area
  • Laval area
  • Longueuil – Varennes area
  • Montréal Island area

Besides the frost, affected regions are slated to get hit with a risk of thunderstorms throughout the day and temperatures will reportedly fall below the freezing mark overnight tonight.
