America’s best-known whistleblower, Chelsea Manning, will be speaking in Montreal this May.
Manning will take the stage at the C2 Montreal conference taking place from May 23 to 25, 2018.
Manning, the former US soldier convicted of espionage after leaking hundreds of thousands of sensitive documents to Wikileaks, will be interviewed by Citizen Lab Fellow Lex Gill in the 360 Big Top, and get hands-on with participants through a masterclass and workshop.
As a transgender woman, Manning is a vocal advocate for inmate rights and for the LGBTQ+ community. Her talk at C2 Montréal will focus on addressing the tech industry’s well-documented gender discrimination problem.
