As if the Atwater Market isn’t magical enough as is, a little bit of Christmas cheer is returning to the historic spot as of tomorrow.

Atwater’s Village de Noël returns to the outskirts of the market for the fifth annual Christmas Village, featuring 30 thematic stalls showcasing all kinds of local products and Montreal-area shops.

“This year’s layout will allow for ample physical distance between visitors, who will find a winter wonderland where they can relax for a while or enjoy the creations of local artisans,” says Les Marchés publics de Montréal in an email shared with Daily Hive. “The friendly and festive atmosphere will extend into the Christmas tree vendors’ area, which will open at the end of the month.”

The Village de Noël at the Atwater Market opens to the public on Thursday, November 26 for opening night before reducing to Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays every weekend until December 20.

The Christmas market is free to enter and will be open Thursdays from 4 pm to 7 pm, on Fridays from 5 pm to 10 pm, Saturdays 11 am to 7 pm, and Sundays 11 am to 5 pm.

The market will host lights, holiday decor, Christmas trees for sale, outdoor fire pits, music, and of course, treats.

The Atwater Market, which opened in 1933, will continue to host its usual vendors — the ideal spot to grab everything from baked goods, cheese, meat, vegetables, fruits, winter gear, and of course, alcohol, just in time for the holidays.
