A snowfall warning is in effect for Montreal

Dec 30 2016, 5:48 am

The city is soon to be covered in 15 to 20cm of fresh snow.

The Weather Network has issued a snowfall warning for the city of Montreal and its surrounding areas.

According to the warning, “a low pressure system from the Great Lakes will give a significant snow accumulation over several regions of Southwestern Quebec until this evening.”

Montrealers can expect heavy snowfall to continue throughout the afternoon, and to continue into the evening and overnight.

Despite the increased snow, temperatures continue to be moderate staying between -2 and 0 today and tomorrow.

Though the brunt of the snow will fall this afternoon, scattered flurries are forecast for tomorrow and over the weekend.

Travelling will be increasingly difficult as the day goes on so if you’re driving, remember to take caution.

Finally, if you’re someone who has yet to dig out their winter boots, now is the time to do so.

Winter isn’t coming, it’s here.

Stay dry, everyone!
