WOW air, the ultra-low-cost airline based out of Iceland, has announced that it will be adding a Vancouver route beginning in June 2019. WOW already operates out of both Toronto and Montreal.
The new Vancouver service will fly six times weekly.
Every flight with WOW air includes a stop in Iceland’s capital of ReykjavĆk, which, thanks to WOW’s Stop Over option, allows you to visit the island on your way to and from your destination for as long as you want without any extra fee.
WOW will fly from YVR to Iceland, New Delhi, Tel Aviv, and 12 European destinations includingĀ Amsterdam, Stockholm, Barcelona, Brussels, Paris, Copenhagen, Dublin, Frankfurt, London, Lyon, Milan and Berlin.
Thanks to a launch promotion, one-way flights in June, September, and October 2019 will start at $129 for Iceland, $199 for Europe, $249 for Tel Aviv, and $329 for New Delhi.
āItās right there in the name – WOW! We are so excited to welcome this new, innovative airline partner to YVR and further connect BC proudly to the world with increased service to Iceland and beyond,” said Craig Richmond, President and CEO of Vancouver Airport Authority in a release. āWith the addition of WOW Airlines, we are well on our way to reaching our goal of 29 million passengers by 2020 and will have 57 airlines servicing the YVR community.ā
It is important to note that WOW air’s lowest fees (WOW Basic) includeĀ only a ticket and a single personal item. Everything from a carry-on bag to a standard seat are not guaranteed unless passengers upgrade to WOW plus.
