Elisha Nochomovitz was supposed to run the Barcelona Marathon this month, but it was postponed until October due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, not wanting to give up on all of his hard work and training, Nochomovitz took matters into his own hands and documented his endeavour on Instagram.

The post, originally published in French, describes how Nochomovitz ran an entire 42 km marathon on his 7×1 metre home balcony in Balma, France, an event he dubbed “Marathon de mon Balcon” or “Marathon from my Balcony.”
“I ran for almost 7 hours on my balcony (many of you have calculated, around 6,000 return trips),” he states in his post.
Nochomovitz provides his stats in the photo, showing that he ran 42.2 km in six hours and 48 minutes.

At the time of posting, residents were still permitted to venture outside for exercise, but Nochomovitz chose to train at home.
“If everyone thinks the same way and does the same thing, we will all find ourselves outside, and that won’t help anything,” he explains.
“The order was to stay at home, which is what I did.”
Nochomovitz also took the opportunity in his post to thank the healthcare workers on the front line combatting the coronavirus pandemic.
He also extended his gratitude to his over 22,000 followers for all of their support and encouragement.
“Thank you all for your messages/support throughout the day,” he says.
“You helped me hold on. I worked my mind today. I didn’t think I could run [42 km], but #marathonman is still there.”
Now, Nochomovitz has proudly added “FIRST PLACE ‘MARATHON BALCON'” to his Instagram bio.
