Written and directed by Michel Laprise, with Fabrice Becker as Director of creation, the show is the product of years of extensive research and exceptional collaborative efforts.

The joint endeavour involved many comprehensive visits to Disney theme parks, Walt Disney Imagineering, Walt Disney Archives, The Walt Disney Family Museum, and Walt Disney Animation Studios, as well as direct face-to-face collaboration between Cirque du Soleil and Disney animators.

The Cirque du Soleil team worked together with legacy animators when creating the show, as well.

“What fascinates us is that moment when life appears in drawings,” Laprise said in a statement. “Just like in an acrobat’s body, the visceral physicality of animation. The way they perform, the way they create the illusion of life.”

Drawn to Life will depict the story of Julie, a girl who discovers an unfinished animation piece as a gift from her late father.

A “surprising pencil” directs Julie as she ventures on an inspiring journey featuring some of her favourite Disney memories from childhood.

Through her experiences, Julie discovers that she alone controls her future; all she has to do is envision the never-ending possibilities.
