Quebec cannabis sales have begun to plummet since legalization went into effect last Wednesday.

Despite the long lineups for in-store purchases, online sales numbers according to the Société québécoise du cannabis (SQDC), have dropped from 30,000 on Wednesday to just 2,910 on Sunday.

By the end of the fifth day, the SQDC reported a steady decline in online marijuana sales.

There’s also been a reported drop in transactions at the outlets, with sales starting at 12,500 on Wednesday’s legalization day, to more than 14,000 on Friday before dropping to 9,900 on Sunday.

The SQDC has been plagued by stock shortages since recreational became legal last Wednesday. As of Tuesday morning, 48 of the 68 products offered online were listed as “out of stock.”
