This is how much cannabis costs in Ontario

Get your credit cards ready, the day has finally arrived. Weed is officially legal in Canada.

Whether you’re new to cannabis or a seasoned pro, the only way to purchase cannabis is through ocs.ca, a government-run website that will give Ontarians access to purchase weed and weed accessories, including bongs and vaporizers.

Consumers will be able to choose between dried buds, oils and capsules, and pre-rolled joints. Customers will also be allowed to purchase up to 30 grams per visit.

After finalizing their order, consumers will receive their items between one and three days through Canada Post with a $5 flat-rate shipping fee applied for all orders.

Currently, the OCS has supply deals with 32 cannabis growers, and initially, the store will offer 70 strains, but that is expected to increase.

To help you gauge how much the bud costs, we’ve compared prices from the lowest to the highest.

At the time of publication on legalization day, a number of strains were already sold out.

To get consumers started, the lowest priced dried strains cost $7.95 (taxes included) for one gram.

There are currently two strains available at this price point, including Easy Cheesy, an indica-dominant strain from Liiv with mid to high THC potency and an extra old cheddar, musky and earthy aroma.

The second strain at the lowest price point is Bali Kush, an indica-dominant strain from Liiv with very high THC potency and an earthy scent with a musky, sweet overtone.

Mid-range priced strains will cost you around $28.60 for 3.5 grams, and there are two strains currently available at that price point. San Fernando Valley from WeedMD, is a sativa-dominant strain with medium to high THC content.

Additionally, users can purchase Blueberry Seagal, an indica-dominant strain with medium THC content.

Finally, the highest-priced strain will cost you $79.45, and it’s the Casablanca Reserve from Edison Reserve. When you add it to your cart, it’s listed as a seven-gram pack.

Why the steep price tag? This is a premium indica-dominant strain with high THC potency, that’s recommended for relaxing, happiness and sleeping.
