A new winning 50/50 ticket has been drawn, and it is a big one.

After teams completed both semi-final games, Hockey Canada posted the winning ticket number on Twitter.

The final total jackpot was $10,583,345 with the winner receiving $5,291,672.50!

Hockey Canada has been doing a 50/50 draw for every single game day of the World Juniors. The jackpots have gotten so high because the 50/50 raffle had to be moved online due to the pandemic, allowing more people to buy their tickets.

Since the start of the tournament, the 50/50 total prize money has surpassed one million dollars three different times with still one day of World Junior hockey action to go.

Tickets are sold online for people in Alberta through Hockey Canadaā€™s website during every game day from 9 am to 10 pm MT for the following amounts:

  • $5 for 1
  • $10 for 10
  • $20 for 60
  • $50 for 200

There’s one more raffle to go for today’s gold and bronze medal games, and it’ll be another outrageously-high jackpot. The jackpot was already nearing $3 million at time of publishing (*update: it’s over $10 million now too).

To buy your ticket, visit HockeyCanada.ca/5050.

The money raised from World Juniors 50/50 sales is split between the winning ticket holder and the Hockey Alberta Foundation, a not-for-profit organization helping grassroots hockey.
