A giant volcano-themed playground is coming to a park near Edmonton

A giant volcano is about to erupt in a park near Edmonton, but instead of lava, it’s a brand-new playground in Fort Saskatchewan.
Construction is underway on a custom volcano-themed playground at Roseburn Park in the City’s new Roseburn neighbourhood. The towering structure is just one of many features in the works for Volcano Park, which will also feature rope nets, crater climbers, bells, wheels, and a giant spiral slide.

Edmonton’s playground reviewer, Edmonton Playgrounds, recently got a sneak peek at the park under construction and shared a preview about what families can expect.
“I know your kids love floor is lava, and this park brings that game to life,” the reviewer wrote. “I’m pretty sure it’s going to be the best playground in the region!”
Beyond the volcano, kids will be able to bounce on in-ground trampolines, ride a cable-track zipline, climb through nets, and spin inside a human hamster wheel. A bamboo forest will round out the playground’s features, according to Edmonton Playgrounds.

Construction began in early fall, with Play Envy bringing the custom playground to life.
The playground is expected to open in Spring 2027.
