The US has reportedly agreed to send more COVID-19 vaccine doses north of the border as Canada deals with a vaccine supply shortage that’s slowing its immunization rollout.
US President Joe Biden told Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on a call Wednesday that he’d help out by sending more doses to Canada, according to a Canadian Press report.
Daily Hive has reached out to the prime minister’s office for comment but has not yet heard back.

Canada’s provincial leaders say their immunization clinics are only administering a fraction of doses they’re capable of because the amount of vaccine coming into the country is low and shipments sometimes face delays.
According to the Government of Canada, approximately 17% of Canada’s population, or 6.5 million people, had received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine by April 10.
By contrast, about 40% of US adults have received at least one dose.
