UPDATE: Amber Alert ended for 14-month-old abducted by father
An Amber Alert that was issued for a 14-month-old near Hinton, Alberta, this morning has since ended.
The Alberta Emergency Alert website ended the Amber Alert as of 4:47 pm on December 20.
Alberta RCMP issued an update via Twitter around 1 pm on December 20, saying the vehicle had been found.
“The vehicle driven by Cody Armstrong has been located back at his residence. We cannot confirm at this time if Cody and/or Waylon are inside the home. There continues to be a large police presence at the residence, and we ask that the public avoid the area.”
The second update came at around 5:11 pm, saying that the boy and his father had been found, with the boy surrendered to police unharmed.
“Waylon Armstrong and Cody Armstrong have both been located unharmed. Cody Armstrong is now in police custody,” said RCMP in a release.
Police say Highway 40 into Brule is now open.
As this matter is under investigation by RCMP, no further details will be provided.
