The Edmonton Oilers look like they could be welcoming back two big pieces of their roster in the near future.
The Oilers have been ravaged by injuries early on in this 2026-27 season, though it hasn’t seemed to impact them all that much. They currently sit atop the Pacific Division with a 9-2-2 record through 13 games.
Despite the strong record, it’s imperative that the Oilers get back to full health so that head coach Mike Babcock can fully see what he has to work with. And while the likes of Matthew Savoie and Frederik Andersen are still a ways away from making their season debuts, it sounds as though both Zach Hyman and Devon Levi could soon return to the lineup.

As first reported by Sportsnet’s Mark Spector, both Hyman and Levi have accompanied the Oilers on their three-game road trip, which is set to get underway on Saturday afternoon in a game against the New York Islanders.
Neither skated with their teammates on Friday, and both will remain out of the lineup this weekend. That said, it is possible they could be ready to go by Tuesday in a game against the New Jersey Devils.
Hyman has had trouble staying healthy this season, as he’s logged just six games so far. His most recent injury came against the Detroit Red Wings on Monday, resulting in him being placed on injured reserve with what head coach Mike Babcock described as a “stiff neck.”
Levi, meanwhile, suffered an injury late in a game on Oct. 22 versus the Carolina Hurricanes. He was able to tough it out for the remainder of the contest, which the Oilers won by a 6-5 shootout final. The following day, however, he was placed on injured reserve with an undisclosed ailment.
While Hyman has struggled this season with just one goal, Levi had taken over No. 1 duties in Edmonton. He owns a 6-1-0 record through his first seven starts in an Oilers sweater.
