From Winefest to the Silver Skate Festival to much more, check out these 11 amazing things to do in Edmonton this week.

Silver Skate Festival

What: The Silver Skate Festival has been a favourite event for over 30 years, celebrating winter sports, art, music, food, and the best in winter recreation. Glide along the city’s free public skating surfaces, marvel at the artistic talent in the Snow Sculpture Garden, or explore the Folk Trail!

When: February 7 to 17

What: With hundreds of wines of varying styles and flavours and a range of delicious bites, Winefest is an opportunity to find your new favourite drink! Tickets include an all-inclusive sampling of wines, hors d’oeuvres, and a take-home Riedel wine glass.

Happy Hour at Muttart Conservatory

What: Each Wednesday from 4 to 9 pm, you can explore the stunning and ever-changing displays of the conservatory’s glass pyramids while sipping on a cocktail or two. It’s insightful, entertaining, and a lovely activity this week.

What: Cheer on the Edmonton Oil Kings this Wednesday as they take on the Regina Pats! It’s a fun, family-friendly atmosphere, and the ticket prices aren’t bad either.

Go ice skating

What: Lace up those skates and wear your warmest winter jacket. Skating during the holidays is perfect, and there are several spots across Edmonton you can go to. It’s some of the best fun you can have for free in the city!

Elk Island National Park

What: Whether you’re hitting the trails, stargazing, or trying to see some buffalo, this park is well worth the short drive out — no matter the season! Why not enjoy the outdoors at this prestigious national park?

Art Gallery of Alberta

What: Wander through the thoughtful and beautiful artwork at the Art Gallery of Alberta and marvel at each exhibit. Grab a bite at a downtown Edmonton restaurant when you’re all finished!

Hit up the WEM World Waterpark

What: It’ll feel like a bit of a summer vacation when you visit the World Waterpark at West Edmonton Mall. Shoot down some massive slides or relax in the wave pool. Whatever you choose, it’s a prime thing to do this week.

Visit the Royal Alberta Museum
