A new hotel is being built on the former site of a beloved Jasper inn

Two years after the Mount Robson Inn was destroyed in the 2024 Jasper wildfire, plans for a new hotel on the site have been revealed.

According to a social media post, The Robson is expected to open in 2027, with its name paying homage to the former inn.

The Mount Robson Inn had welcomed visitors to Jasper for 50 years. According to its former Tripadvisor listing, the family-owned hotel was known for its comfortable rooms, complimentary breakfast, and outdoor hot tubs overlooking the mountains.

The hotel had completed its final renovation in the spring of 2024, just months before it was destroyed by the wildfire on July 24.

Rather than recreating the hotel that had stood on the property since the 1970s, the new design will draw inspiration from Jasper’s mountain landscape, railway history, and hospitality traditions.

“We’ve been quietly working behind the scenes for some time. Now, we’re excited to finally start sharing The Robson with you,” the hotel’s website stated.

Rather than being the focus of the trip, the team says the hotel is intended to serve as a comfortable base for experiencing the national park and surrounding community.

“We’re rebuilding with care, clarity, and a deep respect for what this place has meant to guests, team members, and the Jasper community.”

Few details have been released about the hotel’s rooms, amenities, or construction timeline other than its 2027 opening, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted as more info comes in.
