Spittin' Chiclets hosting party in Edmonton before next Oilers game

The Spittin’ Chiclets podcast is living up to their promise of heading to Edmonton for the Stanley Cup Final between the Oilers and Florida Panthers.

The popular hockey podcast announced today that they will be in Edmonton for Game 3 and will be hosting a meet and greet prior to puck drop at the Canadian Icehouse, located outside of Rogers Place. The event will run from 3 to 5 pm MT on Thursday.

All members of the podcast plan to attend, including former NHLers Ryan Whitney, Paul Bissonnette, Colby Armstrong, and Matt Murley, as well as co-host Brian McGonagle (known as Rear Admiral) and producer Mike Grinnell.

This isn’t the first time the Spittin’ Chiclets crew have travelled to Edmonton for playoff hockey. Whitney, Bissonnette, Murley, McConagle, and Grinnell were all in attendance for Game 3 of the Western Conference Final versus the Colorado Avalanche two seasons ago.

Whitney, who spent 139 of his 481 NHL games in an Oilers sweater, has become a big fan of theirs in recent years. Though he did infamously announce that he was done cheering for them after their horrific start to the season, he quickly began celebrating them once again after they started turning things around.

The Spittin’ Chiclets party won’t be the only event taking place outside of Rogers Place before Game 3, either. Our Lady Peace will host a free concert before Thursday’s outing, while Shania Twain will also perform a free concert ahead of Game 4.

Oilers fans will hope that Whitney and the rest of the Spittin’ Chiclets cast can provide some good luck, as their team is currently in a 2-0 hole after dropping Game 2 by a 4-1 final last night.
