Snoop Dogg concert throws wrench in Oilers' practice plans for Stanley Cup Final

The city of Edmonton may be entirely focused on the Oilers right now, but there are still plenty of other events going on.

One of those events is a Snoop Dogg concert, which actually disrupted the Oilers practice plans this afternoon. Snoop is set to play at Rogers Place tonight, which has stadium staff preparing.

As a result of the preparation going on, the Oilers were forced to practice at the downtown community arena (DCA).

Thankfully for the Oilers, the DCA also happens to be located in Rogers Place, meaning they weren’t forced to deviate a whole lot from a regular practice day.

The stakes have never been higher for this Oilers team, as they are facing a third-straight do-or-die outing tomorrow night versus the Florida Panthers. What appeared to be a quick Stanley Cup Final has suddenly become a very tight series, though the Oilers are doing their best to not let the pressure get to them.

“We’re just out there to have fun, and hopefully the score goes our way,” Mattias Ekholm said. “It has the last couple games here, and guys seem to be enjoying themselves. It’s that time of year, you’ve got to enjoy the journey, that’s what I keep hearing from guys that win. When you get that Cup in your hands, it’s just like, ‘Is this it?’ It’s the journey that’s actually the [fun part]. You’ve got to enjoy that and embrace that.”

The Oilers will look to take this series the distance and continue enjoying this run a little bit longer tomorrow night. Puck drop is set for 6 pm MT.
