RCMP say a man deployed what is believed to have been bear spray when confronted by a security guard while stealing groceries from a store in Sherwood Park last month.
Just after 8 p.m. on Feb. 7, Strathcona County RCMP responded to a report of an assault with a weapon at a grocery store located on Fir Street in Sherwood Park. Two male suspects stole groceries and fled the area on foot.
Before leaving the store, a security guard approached the suspects, and one male suspect sprayed the guard with a substance that is believed to be bear spray. Emergency Services responded, and the male security guard was treated on scene.
The two male suspects are described as 5’8″, and one suspect was wearing blue jeans, a black sweater with a white logo, and white sneakers. RCMP released a photo of the suspect wearing the blue jeans, pictured below.
