A seventh individual at Vimy Ridge Academy has tested positive for coronavirus.

Edmonton Public Schools announced the latest case in a news release Friday, saying an additional seven students and two staff members need to self-isolate because of the discovery.

“The impacted families have been contacted, and schools are working to arrange learning supports for students who are required to isolate,” the district said.

According to Alberta Health’s outbreak map, Vimy Ridge is one of four Edmonton schools on the province’s “watch” list for having an outbreak of five coronavirus cases or more.

An additional 10 Edmonton schools have outbreaks with four or fewer cases.

No Edmonton schools have been closed yet because of coronavirus outbreaks.
