Alberta's coronavirus case numbers up by 153 as of Friday

Alberta has seen 17,343 detected cases of COVID-19 as of Friday, September 24.

A new update from the province of Alberta shows that, in the 24 hours between Wednesday, September 22 and Thursday, September 23, there was an increase of 153 newly detected cases.

The last time the province saw this many new cases in the span of one day was back on September 15, which saw 169 confirmed cases and five probable cases.

The new cases reported on Friday added to an increase in active cases, which currently sit at 1,497.

15,585 cases had recovered as of Friday, though 56 cases remain in hospital, 14 of which in intensive care.

As always, Albertans are encouraged to practice safe physical distance, wear a mask when out in public, maintain proper hand hygiene, and stay home if they are feeling sick.
