Police looking for CCTV footage after 42-year-old man killed in Edmonton

Edmonton Police Service has confirmed that an autopsy revealed the death of a 42-year-old man in Edmonton Monday was a homicide.

According to a release from EPS, on Monday, March 9, 2020, around 5 pm, Downtown Division officers responded to a call and found a man with life-threatening injuries in an alley near 96 Street and 106A Avenue.

The 42-year-old man was treated at the scene by EMS and taken to hospital, where he later passed away.

Police have identified the victim as Kirk Dallas Powder Taylor, 42, of Edmonton.

According to EPS, the Edmonton medical examiner conducted an autopsy and determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound and declared the death a homicide.

Police are asking the public for CCTV footage related to this incident that police may not have obtained, and investigators are still looking to speak with anyone who may have information.
