6 places in Edmonton to see beautiful blooming trees this spring

While we may not have an early spring bloom like the cherry blossom trees in Vancouver, Edmonton is home to its own blooming trees that are just as beautiful.

Each year in May, Edmonton’s crab apple trees put on a gorgeous pink and white natural display. Not only are they a treat to look at, but those photos look pretty good on the ‘gram, too.

Here are some places in Edmonton where you can check out those beautiful blooming flowers this spring:

Henrietta Muir Edwards Park

This peaceful park in the river valley, located along the North Saskatchewan River near the Muttart Conservatory, is one of Edmonton’s most popular spots to catch the trees in full bloom.

Rossdale Park

Across the river from Henrietta Muir Edwards Park is Rossdale Park, another fantastic spot to check out all the spring flowers. Enjoy stunning views of the Fairmont Hotel MacDonald and Edmonton’s river valley from this gorgeous setting.

U of A Botanical Gardens

The Kurimoto Japanese Garden at the U of A Botanical Gardens is a stunning place to take in the blooming trees this spring. Located just a short drive southwest of the city, it’s well worth the trip out there.

George F. Hustler Memorial Plaza

This spot is located inside Henrietta Muir Edwards Park, but it is filled to the brim with gorgeous pink flowering trees. You won’t find a better location in the city for your spring pics.

Alberta Legislature Grounds

We love the expansive and well-maintained grounds of the Alberta Legislature. It’s a fantastic spot for a spring picnic and the home of many gorgeous flowering trees.

Victoria Promenade

Always a stunning location, this walkway offers incredible views of the river valley. It’s lined with trees that produce beautiful flowers in the spring. Be sure to check it out!
