Peavey Mart has reopened in Alberta and more stores are on the way

Iconic Canadian retailer Peavey Mart has made its return to Alberta, reopening select stores across the province this week.

It’s been a rollercoaster year for the company, which announced at the start of this year that it would be closing all of its stores across the country. Then over the summer, word got out that with the support of a group of well-capitalized investors, it would relaunch in select Prairie locations in the late fall.

Daily Hive reached out to Peavey Mart and was told that the Lacombe and Camrose locations opened this past Tuesday, Dec. 2, while the Spruce Grove and Westlock locations officially opened today.

The new stores are owned by 2707162 Alberta Ltd., an investment group that has capitalized the relaunch. Customers can expect to see many of their favourite brands back on store shelves, including Harvest Goodness, Rolling Acres, Scotts, Dickies, Pitt Boss, Shell, and more.

This week’s reopenings aren’t the end of the road for the locations in Alberta, with the company adding that Red Deer, as well as Assiniboia and Yorkton, Sask., will be opening in Spring 2026.

Peavey Mart began in 1967, and at its height, it was Canada’s largest farm and ranch retail chain.
