Attendees at the Dave Chappelle comedy show in Edmonton last night are venting after rowdy hecklers and technical problems reportedly “wrecked” the event.
On Wednesday night, the sold-out show at Rogers Place ran into several issues, with attendees reporting multiple interruptions from hecklers and sound troubles partway through.
While the occasional interruption or hiccup is expected at a comedy show, many fans were left genuinely frustrated by the experience. With the event being phone-free, they waited until afterward to rant about it.
Edmonton comedy fans: congratulations, you just guaranteed that Dave Chappelle is never coming back, while simultaneously hurting our reputation. The inability to sit down and shut up was embarrassing. Everyone who decided to yell and make the show about them should be ashamed.

Tonight at @DaveChappelle in #YEG Edmonton showed why we canāt have nice things here
The dude was absolutely killing it, but some dumbasses canāt shut up
Didnāt pay to hear drunk rednecks who think theyāre funny ruin the night
Just disrespectful to a legend of the comedy game

Never thought I’d get a chance to see Dave Chappelle in Edmonton.
I also never thought I’d see a crowd so terrible.
Congratulations to those losers.
You managed to ruin the whole show.ā Sweenis (@Sweenis0) December 4, 2025
Had friends fly across the country to see Dave Chappelle in #yeg tonight, all to be ruined by a few obnoxious asshats who cant handle a few beers in a public setting. Iāve never been more ashamed of this city in my life.

On Reddit, one attendee directed an angry message at the hecklers, sparking a wave of others chiming in with their own reactions to the night.
“Honestly, I feel sound played into it,” one commenter wrote, adding they believed a mix of factors played into the problems in addition to the rowdy audience. “You couldnāt hear anything at times, and drunks were pointing it out.”
“I don’t think he’s ever coming back here. I can’t blame him,” another user said.
Daily Hive has reached out to Rogers Place for comment on the technical troubles during the show.
