Edmonton Oilers have put up ridiculous results in new alternate jerseys
The Edmonton Oilers might want to consider altering their third jersey schedule.
Things have been going much smoother for the Oilers of late after taking three of their last four games and stringing together a couple of blowout victories over both the Seattle Kraken and Winnipeg Jets.
Over the last two games, Edmonton has managed to score an astounding 15 goals after having been shut out 1-0 by the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night. That was done by defeating the Kraken 9-4 on Thursday night and dismantling the Jets by a 6-2 score on Saturday.
What did those two games have in common? The Oilers were wearing their brand new third jerseys. Through three games wearing the new alternates, Edmonton has outscored its opponents by a 21-9 margin.

As mentioned, 15 of those 21 goals came over the course of the last two games. The remaining six goals came in a 6-3 victory over the Utah Mammoth back on October 28. Things have just come a bit more easily for the team in the retro-inspired design.
This new uniform was revealed shortly before the season began at the Oilers’ annual Fan Day at Rogers Place. It was the first third jersey for the organization since the team donned a two-tone orange and blue uniform between 2019 and 2024.
With three games already out of the way with the new jersey, Edmonton is set to wear their new good luck charm four more times this season, with the next coming against the Calgary Flames on December 23.

- Dec. 23 vs. Calgary Flames
- Jan. 12 vs. Chicago Blackhawks (road game)
- Jan. 13 vs. Nashville Predators (road game)
- Jan. 31 vs. Minnesota Wild
If the Oilers can find a way to continue this good luck, they could potentially decide to designate the design to be the team’s away uniform for the playoffs. Using an alternate jersey in the playoffs is not unprecedented for the Oilers, having done so in both 2017 and 2022.
