The Alberta capital will once again be buzzing during the upcoming Edmonton Oilers playoff run.

With the Oilers booking their ticket to the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs this past weekend, anticipation has been growing around the city. Playoff tickets are set to go on sale this week, but many fans are more excited about the return of the electric watch parties around Rogers Place that have become legendary in recent years.

The Oilers finally revealed on Tuesday morning that those free watch parties will be returning for 2026, and fans will be able to expect the same rowdy atmospheres that they’ve come to love.

“NHL playoff hockey is back in Edmonton for the seventh consecutive season, and with it, the return of the most electric atmosphere in the League,” the team said in a release.

“ICE District is once again set to become the centre of the NHL playoff action, drawing tens of thousands of fans downtown for every game—both inside Rogers Place and across watch parties in ICE District Plaza, Fan Park @ ICE District and Molson Hockey House.”

When the Oilers take to the ice for their seventh-straight season of playoff hockey, they can expect legions of fans taking in the action outside of the arena. The organization has confirmed the return of free watch parties in both the ICE District Plaza (Moss Pit), the ICE District Fan Park just east of the arena, and the Molson Hockey House in Ford Hall.

Attendance is free for all ages, though fans are required to have a LOILTY rewards membership, which fans can register for free. There is a whole host of things Oilers fans can expect at each of these watch parties, including:

  • Live game broadcast with sound on giant screens
  • Food and drink specials
  • Hosts, live entertainment and DJs
  • Oilers alumni and special guest appearances
  • Oilers playoff ticket giveaways and other prizes

These watch parties will open 60 minutes before puck drop for each Oilers playoff game. Last season, the ICE District welcomed more than 500,000 fans over the course of Edmonton’s run to the Stanley Cup Final, which averaged to about 35,000 per game.

On top of the watch parties, the team will also be letting fans into Rogers Place to take in away games. Tickets for that experience will cost $10, with the net proceeds going to the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation. The arena will also be offering special $10 concession combos, t-shirt tosses, and alumni autograph sessions.

If you wanna book your seat to an Oilers home playoff game, you will have a chance to do so when individual game tickets go on sale this Wednesday at noon.
