Jack Roslovic will not be returning to the Edmonton Oilers next season.
As the Oilers continue to navigate a fascinating summer, they will have to do so without Roslovic. The 29-year-old forward is officially leaving the Alberta capital and will be reuniting with his old junior teammate, Auston Matthews, with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reported that Roslovic’s deal with the Leafs will be for two years and will carry a $4 million cap hit.

Roslovic was a bright spot for the Oilers this past season, scoring 21 goals and 36 points in 69 games. He was among the team’s top goal scorers and was a fixture in Edmonton’s top nine all year.Ā The Columbus native, however, turned in a disappointing playoff run with just a single assist in six games.
He initially arrived in the Alberta capital after signing a cheap one-year, $1.5 million deal midway through the Oilers’ season opener against the Calgary Flames.
While he was a valuable part of this Edmonton squad, it seemed unlikely that the Oilers would be able to give him the raise that he was seeking, especially as the team continues to struggle to offload Darnell Nurse.
This may be the start of an exodus in Edmonton, as all of Adam Henrique, Kasperi Kapanen, and Connor Ingram remain unsigned and have opted to test free agency.
