A new No Frills grocery store is in the works for Edmonton, with residents in the Keswick neighbourhood set to have a new place to shop.

According to building permits from the City of Edmonton, a building/foundation permit was recorded for a general retail store involving footings and foundations, along with details that it will be a one-storey No Frills.

The permit is located at 17015 Hiller Rd. SW, which is the southwest corner of Hiller Road and 170th Street at Keswick Square, which touts the square as being “shadow-anchored by future grocery” on its property information.

Daily Hive reached out to Loblaw Companies Limited, No Frills’ parent company, and was told that it “will be in touch in 2027 to confirm timing for this new location.” Questions regarding the new store’s size were not answered.

Next year is shaping up to be quite the moment for shoppers in the Edmonton region, with the new Costco in Stony Plain gearing up for a Summer 2027 opening.
