Apart from successfully launching its Phase 4 Return to Play over the weekend, the league announced on Monday that none of its players, staff, or personnel tested positive for COVID-19 in its latest tests.
According to the NHL, 7,013 tests had been administered to all teams and their 52-member travelling parties who entered the Toronto and Edmonton bubbles on July 26.
This is the league’s second week in a row with zero positive cases.
The NHL, who tests daily, says it will continue to provide “regular updates” on the COVID-19 testing results.

The NHL says it will not be providing information on the identity of the players or teams in the case of positive tests.

In fact, the NHL’s policy is to no longer provide specific player injury/health updates of any kind in the name of medical privacy, beyond saying a player is “unfit to play.”
Twelve teams are playing in the bubbled-NHL playoffs today with Winnipeg, Calgary, Montreal, and Edmonton highlighting the Canadian squads in action.
