Amazon is building a massive new delivery station in Edmonton

Great news, northsiders: your Amazon packages could soon be arriving at your doorstep even faster.
Amazon is bringing a new delivery station to northwest Edmonton.Ā The company received a building permit from the City of Edmonton on June 17 for the project, which has an estimated construction value of $97 million.
A spokesperson for the company confirmed the project, which will be located at 16404 145th Ave. NW, and said that while it’s still in the early stages, it will operate as a delivery station.
There is no estimated timeline for when the new centre will be in operation, but construction is expected to kick off this year.

The delivery station will sit just north of Twin Willows Golf Club, which is set to permanently close after this season. The site will be transformed into an industrial business park by Panattoni Development Co. Inc. and Manulife Investment Management.
News of Amazon’s plans first surfaced in February, when Amazon Canada confirmed it had purchased land in the business park’s second phase.
