Large portions of Alberta may see thunderstorms that could dump a hefty amount of rain on Monday afternoon in the already waterlogged province.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), thunderstorm outlooks from the Storm Prediction Centre show large swaths of Alberta at risk of potentially seeing some thunderstorm activity today, June 29.
There are two moderate weather risk spots for the province, including the Edmonton region. Weather risks in that area include wind gusts of up to 70 kilometres an hour, with thunderstorms that could bring hail up to one centimetre in size, with the big story being rainfall totals of up to 50 millimetres at play.
After all the rainfall the capital region has seen this month, a heavy downpour would make for quite a situation.
The second moderate weather risk is in the extreme northwestern section of the province, with the main risk being wind gusts up to 100 kilometres an hour.
