Ramen lovers, there’s a new shop coming around the block!
Edmonton is home to some of the best ramen spots, and with its popularity only growing, it’s no coincidence that West Edmonton Mall is getting its own new ramen restaurant: Nagaiki Ramen.
Although no official opening date has been announced, Nagaiki Ramen is currently under construction near Simons within the mall, located on Europa Boulevard.

Nagaiki Ramen’s brand draws inspiration from the crane and the pine tree, two enduring symbols of longevity in Japanese culture. While the crane represents hope and vitality, the pine represents strength and endurance.
These symbols guide how the brand approaches everything, from the ingredients all the way to the experience it offers.
Inspiration is also drawn from the Ågimi Village in Okinawa, known as Japanās Longevity Village. The people’s diet, rich in fish, tofu, seaweed, and vegetables, is attributed to the village’s longevity, as they provides essential nutrients while maintaining balance and simplicity.
This is why its specialty, abura soba, is a reflection of its philosophy. The rich, pure, umami flavours with house-made noodles come together with select toppings to celebrate the natural flavours of each and every ingredient. The menu also includes typical ramen and don bowls.
Stay tuned for more information on the exact opening date. It’s slated to “open soon,” and the construction is in its final phases, so we can expect to see the doors open shortly.
