How to watch tonight's Edmonton Oilers preseason game in Winnipeg

It’s game day for the Edmonton Oilers, but fans might be having trouble finding the game on TV.

There is a bit of confusion when it comes to tonight’s preseason game against the Winnipeg Jets. Oilers fans may be able to find the game listed on TSN tonight, but due to regional blackouts, it will not be available to watch in Alberta.

Once again, fans will have to turn to an online stream to watch the game as it will be available on Oilers Plus.

It will also be available for radio listeners on 880 CHED.

Unfortunately, the only way for fans to watch tonight’s game is by paying for a subscription to Oilers Plus. It’s a bit frustrating when other NHL teams typically allow fans to stream preseason games for free.

A monthly Oilers Plus subscription is usually $8.99, while a yearly one retails at $59.99. However, the team is offering a significant discount that will reduce the cost of a yearly subscription all the way down to $17.99 if you use the promo code “PRESEASON25.”

The reason why TSN is not allowing the Oilers broadcast region to watch the game is that the network holds the regional rights to air Jets games. That restricts the TSN viewing audience for the game to the provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Western Ontario.

Those who have Sportsnet Plus also might see the game listed as available to watch, but once again, broadcasting rights will only allow viewers outside of both the Oilers and Jets regions to watch it on that platform.

Rosters for each team have yet to be revealed, but it has been confirmed that both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl will not play.

Puck drop is set for 6 p.m. MDT.
