An authentic Indian restaurant and confectionery chain has opened its first Edmonton location
Gwalia Sweets and Restaurant has opened its first Edmonton location this month, and it’s already serving up its delicious desserts and Indian delicacies.
This spot is known for being a pure vegetarian Indian restaurant, sweet shop, and namkeen store, with locations all across North America. It’s been serving up its authentic sweets and Indian cuisine since 1994, and this month, Edmonton is finally able to get a taste.

On Sept. 18, the restaurant held its grand opening in Edmonton.
If you’re curious about the food, the restaurant itself serves both South Indian and North Indian cuisine.
According to its website, the South Indian dishes on its menu include a bunch of different varieties of dosa and uttapam, while North Indian dishes include paneer butter masala, paneer lababdar, and other classic vegetarian curries, served with rice or Indian breads.
In addition to all of its restaurant fare, every Gwalia location carries a full range of fresh Indian sweets and savoury snacks for takeaway, perfect for both gifting and everyday cravings.
As for the restaurant hours, you’ll be able to visit this spot from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. No matter what day of the week it is, you’ll always be able to grab a bite.
