Former Edmonton Taekwondo instructor charged with child luring

An Edmonton man has been charged by Strathcona County RCMP in relation to a months-long child luring investigation.

According to Strathcona RCMP, former Taekwondo instructor Michael Chung (36), has been charged with luring a child and transmitting explicit material.

The investigation began in November 2019, when a female youth came forward to police about inappropriate messages and explicit images being sent to her by her former Taekwondo instructor.

Chung was arrested on April 14, 2020, and following a bail hearing was released with strict conditions.

He is scheduled to appear in court on June 24, 2020, in Sherwood Park Provincial Court.
