Eleven more of Edmonton’s public schools had either a student or a staff member test positive for coronavirus in the last day.

The school district said in an email Wednesday that a new case was discovered at each of the following schools: Queen Elizabeth School, Greenfield School, Jasper Place School, J. Percy Page School, Strathcona School, Major General Griesbach School, M.E. LaZerte School, Spruce Avenue School, Hospital Campus, Victoria School, and two cases at Londonderry School.

Queen Elizabeth School and M.E. LaZerte School are currently on the province’s “watch list” because their coronavirus outbreaks contain five or more cases.

Across the city, 13 schools are on the watch list and another 35 are dealing with smaller outbreaks.

The district says the close contacts of the infected individuals have been notified, and students who need to isolate at home will receive learning supports.
