Edmonton Public Schools shared information about newly identified coronavirus cases at three of its schools Thursday.

The most recent cases were discovered at Centre High, Abbott School, and Queen Elizabeth School. One person tested positive from each school.

As a result, 90 students and staff from the three schools who were close contacts of the infected individuals need to go into self-isolation for two weeks.

The district has said previously that learning supports will be available for students who need to stay home.

Centre High and Queen Elizabeth are currently on the province’s coronavirus outbreak “watch” list because they’ve seen five or more coronavirus cases within a two-week period.

In the City of Edmonton, 40 schools are currently dealing with coronavirus outbreaks. An outbreak is defined as two or more coronavirus cases at a school within a two-week period.
