Three Edmonton restaurants made it into OpenTable’s list of the top 100 most romantic restaurants in Canada, just in time for Valentine’s Day.

The selections were made by compiling data from half a million reviews on the table reservation platform between December 1, 2018 and November 30, 2019, according to a news release from OpenTable.

Here are the Edmonton spots that made the cut:

OpenTable touted this YEG restaurant for its “stylish and relaxed” atmosphere. Its name means a place that’s rural or off the beaten path, and the small plates change seasonally as ingredients become available.

One chef behind Sabor was born in Portugal and the other in Chile, and the two became friends growing up in north Edmonton. Their restaurant serves flavours from the Iberian coast, and the delicious platters are often accompanied by live Latin music.

Steakhouses and Italian restaurants are the most popular spots for Canadians to take a Valentine’s Day date, according to OpenTable. The platform hopes their list can encourage couples to expand their palate or try something new.

“Planning the perfect Valentine’s Day can be stressful, so we’ve rounded up the most romantic dining options from coast to coast,” Matt Davis of OpenTable Canada said in a release.
