Tim Hortons just removed all Beyond Meat items from its menu

Tim Hortons has officially removed all Beyond Meat items from its menu at locations that were — until now — still offering them.

The nation-wide cancellation comes only a few months after the company announced that many provinces would no longer serve the items, but they would still be on offer in British Columbia and Ontario, where the menu additions had been the most successful.

Over the course of 2019, the coffee-and-donut purveyor launched Beyond Meat breakfast items, Beyond Meat Burgers, and — at some locations — a test of vegan “eggs.”

“We introduced a plant-based protein as a limited time offer and to test the interest of our guests in having this alternative available,” a spokesperson from the company told Daily Hive.

“Ultimately, our guests choose to stay with the meat option in their breakfast sandwiches. We may offer plant-based alternatives again in the future, but we have removed it from the menu for now.”

The eatery’s website no longer lists any of the plant-based brand’s items.

Looks like for the time being, if you’re looking for a fast-food fix of the Beyond variety, you’ll have to hit up A&W instead.
