Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson self isolating with "mild symptoms"

Mar 24 2020, 4:18 pm

Edmonton’s Mayor Don Iveson shared Monday that he is in self isolation at home after experiencing mild “cold-like” symptoms.

Iveson shared an update on Twitter, mentioning that he will be making the move to working from home, while still giving Edmontonians regular updates on COVID-19 in the province.

Iveson later clarified his symptoms are mild, and he has not been instructed by Alberta Health Services to get tested for the coronavirus at this time.

Regardless of the severity of symptoms, “stay home,” is the advice being given by Iveson to Edmontonians, in order to keep one another safe, and plank the curve during the ongoing pandemic.

Iveson’s announcement came the same day Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also issued a stern message to those not taking the threat of coronavirus seriously, urging Canadians to stay home.
