Edmonton International Airport just landed a spot in a new global ranking

Edmonton International Airport has landed a spot in a ranking of the world’s best airports, placing second overall in Canada.
The ranking comes from The AirHelp Score, which evaluates 279 airports across 76 countries using data on on-time performance, service and facilities, and comfort, as well as punctuality, which accounts for 60 per cent of the overall score.
YEG found itself in 166th place out of the 279 airports worldwide, with an overall score of 7.47 out of 10 in the annual ranking. This is the first time YEG has appeared on the score that began keeping track in 2025.

The airport received its highest rating for on-time performance, with a rating of 7.6. Passenger experience received a grade of 7.5 out of 10, while facilities and comfort, YEG’s lowest ranking, was given a 6.9.
Edmonton International Airport was the second-highest ranked Canadian city on the list, just behind Winnipeg Richardson International Airport, which placed 165th, with a score of 7.47.

To the south, Calgary International Airport was Canada’s third-best performing airport. It ranked 171st place worldwide, with an overall score of 7.45.

Other Canadian airports to make the list include Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport in 199th with a score of 7.38, Vancouver International Airport in 230th with a score of 7.22, and Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport in 231st with a score of 7.18.
On the lower end of the scale, Montreal-Pierre Elliot Trudeau ranked 254th with a score of 7.03, and Toronto Pearson International was the lowest-ranked Canadian airport, ranking 263rd with an overall score of 6.95.
Globally, Tocumen International Airport in Panama City took the top spot with a score of 8.48, followed by Fortaleza Airport in Brazil in second, and Cape Town International Airport in South Africa in third.
