
While snow and very unpleasant spring weather persist in Edmonton, a blast of warmer temperatures is on the horizon.
While meteorologists say snow this time of year in the Edmonton area isn’t uncommon, we’re just yearning for the sunshine and lovely daytime highs in the teens at this point.
Looking at the seven-day forecast for Edmonton from Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), the snow and strong winds that are blasting the city and a large chunk of Alberta heading into the weekend will be an afterthought when next week hits.
It’s best to stay in and watch some Netflix tonight and tomorrow, with daytime highs well below normal and snow and flurries on tap.
Things slowly start to improve when Sunday, April 26, arrives, with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 2°C. Monday, April 27, will be even nicer with a high of 5°C, and it’s off to the races as we progress through the work week, reaching a high of 15°C on Thursday, April 30, with plenty of sunshine.
When you do the math between Saturday’s overnight low of -5°C and Thursday’s daytime high of 15°C, that’s a pleasant 20-degree temperature change.
