PetSmart National Pet Adoption Weekend

What: From November 8 to 10, hundreds of Canadian animal welfare organizations will bring adorable, adoptable pets, including dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, guinea pigs, and rabbits into nearly every one of PetSmart’s 140 stores across the country. Regardless of which type of pet you choose to adopt, or where you adopted from, all new pet owners will receive a free adoption kit that provides important content that helps to integrate a new pet into the family.

Level Up! E Sports Tournament

What: The Ultimate Super Smash Bros. tournament is taking place in Edmonton next weekend. Video game experts and amateurs alike will have a chance to play the game and win cool prizes. Pure Canadian Gaming and Fragapalooza are hosting the “Level Up E-Sports Tournament” at the Pearl Showroom inside Pure Casino Yellowhead on November 9 and 10.

The stakes are high, with $10,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs, and players must be 18+ to enter. While the Super Smash Bros. tournament is the main tournament, there will also be side tournaments such as the Forza Horizon 4 and Classic Arcade Game: Galaga Tournaments.

This Art Makes Me Feel

What: North West Edmonton Seniors Society 55+ Activity Centre, Calder Community League, and the 3rd Canadian Division Support Group Signal Squadron present the 2019 Remembrance Day Memorial. The morning starts with an interdenominational church service, followed by a parade to the Cenotaph and an outdoor service and laying of the wreaths. There will be a reception in the Calder Community League Auditorium after with coffee, hot chocolate, and a live performance by the Calder Cuties.
