Edmonton's getting a HUGE new events district and this is how it may look

A massive new events district and residential area are planned for downtown Edmonton, and early renderings offer a glimpse of what’s to come.
OEG Sports & Entertainment has unveiled conceptual designs for the next phase of development in the Ice District, set to bring a first-of-its-kind event park to the area and develop the Village at Ice District, a new residential mixed-use community.
This follows the announcement that OEG Sports & Entertainment signed a memorandum of understanding with the Government of Alberta and the City of Edmonton.
In addition to developing an event park and public space fully connected to Rogers Place, the agreement will support public infrastructure site servicing for the Village at Ice District and the demolition of the old Coliseum at Exhibition Lands.
The new event park is set to offer 140,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, located on the current Fan Park @ ICE District site, located at 10104 104th Ave. NW. The area will be designed to host live performances, festivals, sports, cultural events, and community gatherings.

The event park is projected to cost a total of $250 million. Of that, OEG Sports & Entertainment will contribute $84 million, $69 million will come from the City of Edmonton through the Capital City Downtown CRL, and the Government of Alberta will pay $97 million.

The Village at Ice District will be a medium-density urban community just north of Rogers Place, with a mix of green spaces, shops, restaurants, and housing options, including purpose-built rentals, student housing, and “affordable, attainable homes.”
