The Dallas Stars beat the Edmonton Oilers in Game 1 of the Western Conference Final, thanks to three straight power play goals in the third period.
With the score tied 3-3 in the third period, Dallas Stars forward Matt Duchene appeared to sell a high sticking penalty. At least that’s what Evander Kane thought, and how it was presented on the Sportsnet broadcast.

Kane’s stick never came close to Duchene’s face, on the reverse angle replay shown in Canada. But ESPN had a different angle, in which Kane’s stick does appear to make contact with Duchene.
It looks like it was the right call after all.

Not only did Kane get assessed a minor penalty on the play, Duchene scored on the ensuing power play. The Stars never looked back, winning 6-3.
